Not too long ago, a friend and I were talking about murderers. Now, try thinking about the worse person you know or heard of. That's the type of people we were talking about. Throughout that conversation, we talked about how upsetting it is for those "bad people" to have the opportunity to be forgiven and loved. They don't deserve forgiveness, we said.

For a second, we forgot that we ourselves do not deserve the love and kindness of God.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. I don't know about you, but I have plenty of tendencies that I am not a fan of. Sometimes it is still hard for me to understand how God can love me despite all he knows about me. There was a time where I wish I could just wipe away my past. There was nothing I could do in my human power to erase all I have done. When I met Jesus, he wiped away all of my sins, and I was set free. I mean really FREE. The thing is, every now and then, I still think about the things that weren't pretty about my past and even the things that are not pretty in the present. To know that there is someone that knows all these things about me, and he still loves me more than I love myself, is beyond what my human mind can comprehend. The same is true for the murderers. He can forgive them, wipe away their past, and set them free. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that WHOEVER believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Notice that it says whoever.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone; the new is here. No matter what your past or present looks like, you too are known by God. He knows your name. He knows how much hair you have, something that you don't even know about yourself. He knows your destiny, and he knows the things you wished you knew. He knows your strength, but most importantly, he knows your weaknesses and sins. The sins you wish that no one will ever find out. He knows them. We may think, what would others think of us if they find out the things we do or think about. God himself knows our deep dark secrets, yet he still loves us more than we will ever be able to love ourselves. Titus 3:4- But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

I am beyond grateful to be FULLY KNOWN AND LOVED BY GOD.
